President Obama Honors Arizona Education Foundation Teacher of the Year, Sarah Baird

 

Sarah Baird, the 2009 Arizona Education Foundation Teacher of the Year, will have the privilege this week of meeting President and Mrs. Barack Obama at a special White House ceremony honoring the nation's best and brightest teachers. She is currently in Washington, D.C. representing Arizona in education-related events that recognize America's outstanding teachers.

Sarah, a member of the Arizona Center for STEM Teachers (ACST) Education Committee, teaches K-5 math at Kyrene del Milenio and Kyrene de las Lomas Schools in Phoenix.

Her contributions to STEM education are immeasurable and will enable today's students and tomorrow's workforce to be prepared for the 21st Century economy.

ACST is honored and proud to have her as part of our team as we forge ahead with efforts to elevate STEM education statewide as we attempt to ensure strong STEM skills in our students today and in the future.
