The Arizona Center for STEM Teachers (ACST) was created in 2008 from grant funds awarded by Science Foundation Arizona (SFAZ) and matching funds from the Philecology Foundation.
We serve Arizona Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers, and our mission in simple: to provide quality, applicable professional development for our teachers in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We are housed at the Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona. The grants for the ACST are used to not only provide this professional development, but to make it FREE for our teachers to attend.
We also MAKE SURE that our teachers are well-take care of, by providing them housing, meals, and supplies during their stay here at B2. We want teachers to know that we honor them and their profession. One main component of the ACST is that is run by the classroom teachers, as who knows better than us what teachers need in their professional development!
